i have a piece in the ART VOTES exhibit at Rogue Buddha Gallery this weekend... there's a little opening Friday night... 7-9pm.

The Rogue Buddha Gallery is hosting a three-day pop-up art exhibition
opening Friday, July 30th and running through Sunday, August 1st.
The exhibit will feature work by local artists themed around a
positive message about voting. Additionally, the exhibit will be
judged by a committee of local art community leaders, and the winning work will be reproduced as free, limited-run posters.

The opening reception will be hosted by Entenza running mate, artist,
arts advocate and former gallery owner, Robyne Robinson!

working on a couple of pieces for the grumpys pbr shindig friday night
i love little things like this... because they present me a challenge and i get to work outside of my normal realm.

also getting things ready for the red hot arts festival and the moxie salon show at the end of the month.

turning my thoughts toward fall/winter shows ... i find it's best for me to plan out quite a few months in advance so i have time to experiment and then go full force just before the show.

the stuff posted here is still being completed... but it's fun to show and tell

my "west bank" themed show at the cedar has been extended through the end of july... so if you're at the cedar for one of the amazing shows they have coming up (like this one perhaps http://www.thecedar.org/events/2010/07/09/neros-neptune-presents-spider-john-koerner-charlie-parr)  then be sure to take a moment and say hello to my artwork in the lobby! http://www.thecedar.org/news/2010/06/cedar-presents-artist-jennifer-sandquist

last night was the monthy first thursday event at casket arts... for me it was the best thus far... i met some fun and interesting people... and the turn out was better than last month. i also was lucky enough to watch 2 bands.

Busk Brothers
&
Calamity and the Owl

yesterday was really warm... and being on the 4th floor of the old casket building was less than cool... but with a few windows open behind the bands... those of us gathered there for a very intimate show... were quite comfortable... and i enjoyed both bands! what a pleasant surprise! Calamity and the Owl covered Gillian Welch's Red Clay Halo... one of my favorite songs... the only a sprinkler and an ice cream man could've made it more summer happy~
