i feel like i have had twice the amount to do in half the time for twice as long uphill both ways... while holding my breath...


i finally had time to do some preliminary sketches for paintings i want to work on in the coming week. i need to finish a few portraits up that are lurking in the closet... and then on to new horizons. i'm booking shows for winter now... and sorting all of those out. 


i was at palmers last night for the El Le Faunt show... which was awesome by the way... my paintings are still up, but come down at the end of the month... I will be picking them up early next week. So now's your last chance to go have the cheapest strongest drink in minneapolis, listen to some great music and observe my art hanging directly below the taxidermy fish.

Music starts @ 9-ish.

palmers is a go!


i have been in a hedonistic artistic funk... that means i have produced very little that isn't raw and selfish... but this is the stuff that fuels the fire...
the opening at palmers is set for next thursday... october the 14th... cold cuts at 7pm... and jennifer markey will be delighting us later in the evening... 
i am there for the whole night... if you just want to stop in and say hello


today when i hung the show i was reminded of the reasons i love palmers... the patrons are unassuming and sedate in a way that says... "we've been working our fingers to the bone and we've just stopped off for a drink"... they wouldn't let me leave... fawning over the paintings that wouldn't fit on the wall and complimenting me in the way that only old souls can... this has honestly NEVER happened to me before... usually the venues i show are semi annoyed by my presence and i end up just feeling like they are waiting for me to finish so they can go home... not in a bad way... just in a real way... palmers is a vortex... if you've been there you know what i mean...

i have been storing many of them in my garage stall behind my apt building... and was sad to find several of them water damaged... :( 
it's a good thing i am cataloging everything now so nothing else will be lost. 
i still have many more in my storage unit the basement... i don't know if i will get that far tonight... still have to bake cupcakes for my dad's birthday party tomorrow also...
getting all of these up is kind of like cleaning the skeletons out of my creative closet... i am making room for new ideas... and remembering old ones


what a beautiful fall day!

It's been another busy week. I have my work cut out for me this weekend prepping for my show at Palmers on the West Bank.... there will be an opening... but that info is still being finalized... I will post details when I have them. I still have a few portraits left to finish for the $20 sale... thank you for your patience if you are waiting on a portrait.


I rescheduled my show in Portland that was supposed to open yesterday evening... I broke my foot about a month and a half ago... the dr.'s bills really hit me hard and I've been trying to scrape the train fare together but it just didn't happen in time. The show has been rescheduled for January. I will post the exact dates when I have them.
