i might be a starving artist... but i am not starving or cold today
i am sitting at the coffee shop by my house... sipping a warm cup of coffee, thinking of how thankful i am to have good friends, good health and something to smile about every single day 
as i sit here a homeless man stares off into space sipping as slowly as he can on a giant cup of coffee that seems to dwarf him
i keep making eye contact and each time i do... my heart hurts
be thankful today... and if you can't give anything to someone you pass today... give them a smile

i've been working on my pieces for the urban arts submission... here's some samples... some are done... some are works in progress.... i love locking myself in my apt for a whole day~ ps. homemade chili is so much better the next day

i am working on my submissions for the "Tune Up Your Art" show at Urbanocity


my 10 pieces for the show are going to be based on a compilation i made recently called "rainbow" each piece will be my interpretation of a different track on the mix. :)
i have already started a couple of the pieces... and i am having so much fun with it!

this weekend was one of the best in recent memory~ i spent 2 days in a new city with an old friend.... soon to discover she was also a new friend... traveling makes me so happy... but for some reason this trip was filled with even more of the things i love so much... more music, more exploration, more color... the weather was perfect.... the rooftop was perfect... the windows were perfect... 


new orleans is a mixture of rot and fresh paint... trees rip up the sidwalks in front of gorgeous mansions... gypsy kids dance in the streets in front of ritzy galleries... the air is crisp and smells like gumbo... and trash... i didn't want to come home... here are a few photos... i have more to edit but these are a few of my favorites


i learned some things about myself on this trip... that made me very happy

i finally figured out how to get one of the choice spots at spyhouse.... arrive the minute they open

life is beautiful


sometimes so many things excite me that i can't contain myself... today is one of those days. last night i met with mr thomas maddux of el le faunt.... we have an exciting project in the laboratory... and i can't wait to get started.... beyond that mr maddux is a true artist and i am lucky to know him


and if that weren't amazing enough... i am headed to new orleans this afternoon... my insane friend bought me a ticket to accompany her for a weekend of art and music in the crescent city... i have inside sources that have turned me on to the best spots in the city... and i am armed and dangerous for a weekend of inspiration and debauchery

What a gorgeous night... I'm sitting at Spyhouse sipping on a cup full of something that will likely keep me up all night... but the front door is open and the cool night air is pouring in... :) 


I have big plans for a neato opening... I will post more info when I have the details ironed out... 


Side note.... dancing may be the closest thing to heaven on earth.

music fuels most of my art... which might be obvious by how many videos i post here... but... i could almost do a backflip i am so excited about this band.... the pink mountaintops!
