last night was first thursday at casket arts... it was a fairly slow night... but i met someone that really took the time to talk with me about my art... growth... exploration through art... he said he drew someone walking through the snow as a child and there were no footprints... that made me smile inside... and think of this song... dear stranger... thank you i can't go one day without being moved to photography at something odd or interesting i find in everyday life... yesterday was this... :) PS. Spend your Thursday evening exploring the arts of NE Minneapolis. www.casketarts.com i haven't had a lot of free time lately for painting... but last night i squeezed a few hours in... and... as always... i could almost kick myself for not doing so every single day. it makes me ecstatic... how is it that i always forget that during the spaces in between? i am posting some photos here of the pieces i worked on.... i am also still keeping on with my 'full deck' project... more photos coming of those soon. you might recognize the moustached man in two of the paintings here.... he is none other than the talented mr. thomas maddux! of El le Faunt fame!~ Work them in to your busy social calendar! http://ellefaunt.bandcamp.com/ Nov 10 - 10pm KFAI RADIO Nov 19 - 10pm Lovely Creatures Cabaret Nov 20 - 7pm Station 4 Dec 4 - 11pm 501 Club Dec 11 - 10pm Stanley's Dec 19 - 10pm Turf Club I am heading to Palmers in a little bit to pick up my paintings from that show... it came down yesterday... I am very excited to report that the Palmers Painting is STAYING THERE! I will be a permanent part of the Palmers Collection! I was there to see my friend Thomas Maddux and his band El Le Faunt on Thursday... what a show! My favorite Halloween costume.... a bass player dressed as a giant hot dog... it wasn't so much the costume... as the mellow groove and the look on his face... that said... i rock this hot dog. :) |
