Local musician, Urban Bean barista, and good friend, Matt Call, was the victim of a hit and run on Wednesday, June 27th, 2012. He suffered extensive injuries including two broken femurs, a cracked pelvis, and spinal fractures, which will require months of recovery.
This benefit is to help offset medical expenses, additional personal expenses, and loss of income during his time of recovery.
---------
The benefit will be held at Greg Martin's loft in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis. There will be two floors of events happening. The first floor will hold a silent auction, DJ sets, and drinks mixed by members of the Northstar Bartenders Guild. The second floor will have live music from local musicians and additional beverages provided by 2 GINGERS Whiskey.
Tickets are by donation, starting at $20, and must be purchased in advance. Exact address will be given with ticket purchase.

Art auction/benefit to raise funds for a Guerrilla Girl billboard
campaign in Minneapolis in support of defeating the marriage and voter
ID amendments during the month of October.
Cult Status Gallery
2913 Harriet Ave S, MPLS
Internationally acclaimed feminist public and protest art activists, The
Guerrilla Girls, and
Whittier Artists in Storefronts and Cult Status Gallery will partner to
bring the famed activists to the MN electoral process with a benefit to
raise funds for a political public art campaign.
Local DIY arts organizer, Joan Vorderbruggen whose successful Artists in
Storefronts project in the Whittier neighborhood now in it's second run,
will partner with Cult Status Gallery, Minneapolis's go-to gallery for
subversive, cutting edge urban art. They are organizing this one night
event to support all of our friends and citizens who are affected by the
amendments. Both Joan and Erin have been inspired by the Guerrilla
Girls' feminist art movement throughout their careers, and are extremely
honored and excited to be working with the activist group.
Silent auction, sponsored by another amazing women run art organization,
WARM, will include work by over 50 local artists who are in support of
our efforts.
Music by DJs Christy Hunt of Lady Heat and Venus DeMars, photo booth, food truck and
gorilla masks galore.
Participate by wearing your own gorilla mask, supporting our artists,
GLBT brethren and our immigrant community by purchasing art!
