some last minute finds for adding to the show...
i remember one of my first days in advertising school... the teacher said... what you're going to want to do... is start collecting ads... if you see something in a magazine that interests you... rip it out... and put it in a file folder in your desk... file them by subject matter... or by type of advertising... after many years you will have a collection you can draw on for inspiration... i laughed a little... because i already had one... several actually... but mine aren't organized... they're in giant boxes and bins... thrown all together... i found one such cache while pulling out paintings for the show... i think it's neat how something that spoke to me for whatever reason 10 years ago... still does now... i find that most of the things are still worthwhile... i tried throwing a bunch of things out last night... but instead just kept putting them in the "this is still really cool" pile... humpf... oh well...
